If you think you know the story of Peter Pan, think again. Tonight Syfy will premiere the first half of its four-hour original miniseries, Neverland, which will conclude tomorrow night. The story is a prequel - an origin story, penned by Nick Willing, who previously directed the Syfy miniseries Alice, which he also wrote, and Tin Man. If you have watched either of those, you probably already have an idea that Neverland, although containing bits of the classic, will stand on its own.

Karl Yune, who's known for such projects as Memoirs of a Geisha and Speed Racer, will star in the film Real Steel, which opens this weekend.

The movie is set in the near future, where the sport of robot boxing has become mainstream. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), an ex-boxer, finds a discarded robot he hopes can become a champion, which he uses to get closer to his estranged son (Dakota Goyo). Karl Yune stars opposite Jackman as Tak Mashido, the man who is responsible for bringing the sport mainstream, as well as Kenton's opponent.

Yune recently sat down for an exclusive interview with SciFi Vision to talk about the new film.

Fans may recognize Stephen Bishop from films such as The Rundown, Friday Night Lights, or more recently The Company We Keep. The actor has appeared in television series like Lost, Grey's Anatomy, and CSI: Miami. He can also be seen in the upcoming films Safe House and Battleship.

Starting tonight, Bishop, a baseball player in his own right, can be seen as the famous player David Justice in the new film Moneyball. The film stars Brad Pitt as the Oakland A's general manager Billy Bean, as he attempts to create a competitive baseball team based on computer data given to him by Peter Brand, played by Jonah Hill. Justice is an A's outfielder. The movie is based on Michael Lewis's book of the same name.

Most fans know Taylor Lautner as the sexy teen werewolf in the Twilight Saga, but this summer he sheds his fur to take on a bigger role as the lead in the film Abduction. Thursday night twenty theaters around the country held a special screening of the film, along with a live stream of the Hollywood premiere. One of these cities was Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Indiana native Drew Powell has been singing and dancing since he was young. Though an English Literature major and Media Fellow in college, the theater department was a part of his life, and he wrote and performed in multiple campus films and television productions.

Powell's first role in television was on the series Malcolm in the Middle. He also appeared in series such as CSI, House M.D., and Leverage. He also starred as Eric 'Hoss' Cartwright in the series Ponderosa.

The actor also has worked on films such as Starship Troopers 2, The Marine, and 1408.

Powell can now be seen in the thriller Straw Dogs, which opens in theaters today, and soon in the movie Touchback.

Powell recently sat down with SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview to talk about his work.

The Canadian born actress Kim Bubbs has appeared in television series such as Twice in a Lifetime and InSecurity, and the miniseries Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures. She has worked on films such as Her Only Child and A Flesh Offering. She has also lent her voice to video games such as the popular Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and the newly released Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The actress can be seen in the upcoming films The Thing and On the Road.

I'm not really the target audience for a movie like Teen Spirit, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the fine acting talents of two up and coming stars, Cassie Scerbo and Lindsey Shaw. However, that is why I watched with my daughter to get insight from someone who is within the target audience.

The story has been told time and again: unpopular kid that not many people are aware exists turns into the popular person at school. This time though, it was done with a twist. Amber (Cassie Scerbo) is dead and now must find a way to turn a wall flower (Lisa; Lindsey Shaw) into a rose by becoming prom queen so that she can get to Heaven.

 

This weekend marked the end of an era for a lot of fans. The Harry Potter film series, based on J.K. Rowling's novels, came to an end with the last installment - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - last Friday, July 15. The movie was sold out across the country Thursday night, most places weeks in advance as many fans waited to see the conclusion.

The midnight opening of the film broke records as it did for largest opening day. On Friday alone, which was the biggest Friday opening in the history of Hollywood, the movie grossed an estimated $92.1 million, beating out the current opening day record of The Twilight Saga: New Moon with $72.7 million. The midnight screenings accounted for close to half of the revenues at $43.5 million! This also beat out The Twilight Saga: Eclipse midnight record of $30 million. As a bigger record still, the film broke weekend grossing records by bringing in $169.2 million, beating out The Dark Knight which previously held the record at $158.4 million.

Wasa is happy to be appearing at the convention. She has attended other conventions in the past, but not Contamination. "This is a new convention for me, so I'm excited to see how it's run. I know Dave Dyer is really good at throwing great events and I'm excited about that and I'm excited to be with some of my friends that are on the same convention circuit. So it's always really fun to meet up with them and to get together for the weekend and just have a good time."
