Last Thursday, Serial Box released the first part of the first episode of their new audio book series Orphan Black: The Next Chapter, narrated by Tatiana Maslany, which you can read my review of here if you haven’t.

Tomorrow, when part two is released, I will be posting about that part of episode one, but I decided to write both a review and a recap together. So, I decided that it only made sense to post a recap from part one. Read on below, but please be aware, it’s full of spoilers for part one. Stay tuned for my post-mortem of part two.

Today Serial Box released part one of episode one of the highly anticipated continuation of the popular BBC America series, Orphan Black. The Next Chapter takes place eight years after the end of the television series, which followed the intertwined lives of clones as they struggled to not only find their identities, but also stop those behind the cloning program and other atrocities of science.

The new series will see the return of the sisters. Although Project Leda has come to an end, it’s not over. Everything changes when they discover the existence of more clones and are forced out of their anonymous lives in order to stop a disaster.

The Dead Don’t Die takes place in the small town of Centerville when strange things start to happen. Polar fracking causes the earth’s rotation to change and the hours of daylight to shift.

Chief Cliff Robertson (Bill Murray) and Officer Ronnie Peterson (Adam Driver) are called in to investigate a dispute when farmer Frank Miller (Steve Buscemi) accuses Hermit Bob (Tom Waits) of stealing his chickens. Animals behaving abnormally is only part of the changes coming to the town.

Back at the station, they meet up with Officer Mindy Morrison (Chloë Sevigny). A local alcoholic’s body (Carol Kane) sits in a cell, waiting for the peculiar new undertaker Zelda Winston (Tilda Swinton).

When bodies start rising from their graves and two of the women who work at the local diner are killed, Robertson and his officers must investigate the bizarre murders and try to navigate their way through the rising zombie apocalypse.

Men in Black: International is the fourth film in the Men in Black franchise, which focuses on the secret government agency who protects the Earth from the scum of the universe. The story follows Molly, (Tessa Thompson), who after seeing something she can’t explain as a child, works to prove aliens do exist. Eventually she gets her dream job for the MIB as Agent M.

As M is getting used to a life where there are aliens around every corner, she ends up partnered with the cocky Agent H (Chris Hemsworth), who is a hero at the agency for previously saving the universe along with his boss, Agent High T (Liam Neeson).

When the two are sent on a routine mission to protect an asset, things quickly go from bad to worse. The two must work together as they meet a myriad of unique and amusing characters along the way, including their new friend Pawny (Kumail Nanjiani), to stop the biggest global threat yet, a mole inside the organization.

Captain Marvel, based on the comic-book series first published in 1967, which introduces Marvel’s first female-franchise stand-alone title character, is available on Blu-ray and Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD starting today. The film, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, takes place in the 1990s and follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) as she eventually becomes Captain Marvel.

At the beginning, Danvers, who goes by the name Vers, has been learning to control her powers and training as a member of the Kree military team known as Starforce, under the command of Yon-Rogg (Jude Law). When a rescue mission goes awry, she finds herself back on earth, and realizes she might have been there before.

While trying to find answers to her past, as well as stop the Skrulls, the shape-shifting alien race who followed her to earth, she runs into Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). The two of them must work together to stop the alien threat and protect planet Earth.

Tomorrow, AMC premieres its new series, NOS4A2. The series is based on a novel of the same name by Joe Hill.

The story starts out when an old immortal man named Charles Manx (Zachary Quinto) lures a young boy named Daniel (Asher Miles Fallica) into his Rolls Royce Wraith with candy and Christmas gifts, while his henchman kills the boy’s mother and her boyfriend. He promises the boy that he will bring him to Christmasland where he will never be lonely, and unhappiness is against the law. It’s easy to see right away that something sinister is going on.

Sunday, season five of Fear the Walking Dead premieres on AMC. The season starts where the last left off, with the group’s new plan of trying to find other survivors who are in need of help. However, doing good doesn’t always go according to plan, when in an effort to save a man named Logan (Matt Frewer), the plane that part of the group is traveling in crashes. Worse yet, the area may hold some new threats, including a different kind of danger posed by the walkers, as well as people who seem to be keen to keep others away. Not everyone is interested in the help the group offers.

Tomorrow, the new six-part series, Good Omens, based on the novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, comes to Amazon Prime. The screenplay was written by Gaiman, and the show was directed by Douglas Mackinnon.

The series stars David Tennant as the demon Crowley, once called “Crawly” and the snake who originally tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, and Michael Sheen, the angel Aziraphale, original guard of the eastern gates of paradise, as unlikely friends, who after being used to all their time spent on Earth, want to stop the rise of the antichrist and the final battle between Heaven and Hell.

Tomorrow NBC premieres its new paranormal drama The Inbetween. The series stars Harriet Dyer as Cassie Bedford, a woman who has a supernatural gift, whether she wants it or not. She has visions that allow her to see events that have occurred or ones that have yet to happen, as well as the ability to communicate with the dead and those in between life and death. Although often unpleasant, she uses her powers to help the LAPD solve crimes.

Her foster father, Tom Hackett (Paul Blackthorne), is a detective at the LAPD. When she’s not helping him and his new partner, former FBI Agent Damien Asante (Justin Cornwall), solve murder cases, she’s tending bar at her day job.

One of the things that makes Killing Eve interesting, is that while you want Eve (Sandra Oh) and MI6 to prevail, you also don’t want Villanelle (Jodie Comer) to get captured or killed. This season with Villanelle working with MI6, it has made the lines blur more and even made it easier to forget sometimes that Villanelle is not only a coldblooded killer, but she enjoys it. The whole operation was bound to fail from the beginning, but it was a lot of fun to watch play out.

Obviously, the title of the episode, “You’re Mine,” is partially a reference to the line at the end of the episode, which we’ll get to, but it also represents the twisted and obsessive relationship between Villanelle and Eve. For the first season, most of it was in Villanelle’s head, but throughout this season, Eve’s obsession with her has continued to grow. The relationship between Villanelle and Eve has always been a strange one to say the least, but also very interesting and one of the best parts of the show.

Lately Eve has been moving ahead full force and not looking back, ignoring everyone who tries to get her to see what she’s doing, fully trusting Villanelle at this point. She sometimes seems to recognize she is behaving abnormally, but she still doesn’t stop. Before she was intrigued but also scared, however, as her obsession has grown, she has become more and more comfortable around Villanelle. After her husband left her, it only got worse, opening it up to her being less likely to hold back. Niko (Owen McDonnell) was a sort of tether for her at one point, but now that she feels she’s lost him, all bets are off.
