Note from the editor: I have included interviews under exclusive if they are private or one-on-one or in person interviews. These were not part of press conference calls or group discussions. These are exclusives that are currently published here at SciFi Vision or as part of one of SciFi Vision's own podcasts, or in some early cases at Media Blvd. Magazine.

I also have chosen to include some interviews from press events that are only open to a select few and not the general press or public, such as convention press rooms and everything from the Syfy Digital Press Tours, set tours, etc. as although they are not entirely exclusive, they do contain exclusive photos and sometimes videos that no other site has (I have started to mark some of these as "Spotlight" as opposed to "Exclusive, but they still remain in this category"), or may be about my own experiences only at the events. Note that in a few specific cases, the set tours were exclusive and specifically for SciFi Vision.

All of the articles unless otherwise noted were written by me, Jamie Ruby, and are copyright © 2017 Sci-Fi Vision. If you would like to post an article on your own site, please let us know first. Please do not use any of the exclusive photos or videos on your own site without permission (it will usually be given). You can find the rest of our published articles, including both interviews and reviews under articles.

Exclusive: Michael Xavier Talks Bitten, Returning Friday to Syfy

Michael XavierFriday Bitten returns for season two to Syfy with all new episodes. Last season, Logan, played by Michael Xavier, found out that his girlfriend, Rachel (Genelle Williams), was pregnant with his child, but she was kidnapped.

Xavier recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about his work on the show and what's next for Logan.

When the actor started his work on Bitten, he took inspiration for Logan from more than just the script or the book series that the show is based on. "Every time I approach a character, I tend to look for inspiration outside of just the script or just the books that are offered. And when I first jumped onto Bitten, I didn't know too much about it. I didn't know about the books, but I jumped online, and I did some research, and I found that Logan's character didn't last very long in the book.

"And I spoke to the creative minds and our producer, and they were saying they were going to head in a bit of a different direction with Logan. So it wasn't as imperative for me as it might have been for say Greg [Bryk] and Laura [Vandervoort] to try to stick to the books.

Exclusive: Anna Silk on the Final Season of Lost Girl, Returning Friday to Syfy

Anna SilkFriday Syfy premieres the fifth and final season of its hit series Lost Girl. Star Anna Silk, who plays Bo, recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about her time playing the succubus this season, as well as what she will miss from her journey.

One of the main attractions of Lost Girl to a lot of the fans is the love triangle. Bo's romantic relationships will change some this season, but the triangle between Bo and Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) and Bo and Lauren (Zoie Palmer) will still continue. "The triangle certainly continues. I feel like every season it's been sort of more one side or more the other side. I don't think that that initial love triangle would ever go away in a sense; it just kind of changes...I think we're going to see both parts of that triangle play out in a way that hopefully everyone will like and be happy with or be surprised by. I don't know, but it made total sense to me, and I feel like where the show is leading and where it ends is exactly where it should be."

Exclusive: Helix's Jim Thorburn on The Mysteries of Caleb

Jim ThorburnTonight Syfy airs its second season finale of Helix. Many fans have been wondering about the mysteries surrounding Caleb, played by Jim Thorburn. Caleb was first seen in the beginning of the season when he ran into Julia (Kyra Zagorsky) on the island, thirty years in the future. Tonight many of the questions about Caleb will be answered.

Thorburn recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about his time working on the series and the mysteries surrounding his character.

Thorburn worked behind the scenes on a set before he started his acting career. "I got into acting after working in the art/set decoration department on The X-Files pilot. It was shot in Vancouver. Having the opportunity to work on set behind the camera, I became intrigued by the performances I was seeing firsthand. It was like a private acting class. I soaked up as much as I could. While working on the second season of The X-Files, and thanks to David Nutter and Chris Carter, I was given the opportunity to audition for the Millennium pilot and booked my first acting role. Through that experience, the biggest thing I learned was how important tone is to any project, and this has always influenced my acting."

Exclusive: Levi Meaden as Kimon, Debuting Tonight in Olympus on Syfy

Levi MeadenLast week Syfy premiered its new series, Olympus. Tonight's new episode introduces the character of Kimon. In preparation for his debut on the show, actor Levi Meaden talked to Jamie Ruby in an exclusive interview about Kimon.

Kimon was not the character that Meaden originally auditioned for. "I had originally actually gone in for Lykos, but they went another way; they wanted somebody darker. They went with Wayne [Burns], who just does a great job. And they had me come in afterwards and read for Kimon. And I read for it and I thought it went well, but I didn't hear anything for a while.

"So I actually ended up going back home for a family reunion. I take very little vacation, but I was going to take four days, and about 36 hours into my trip I get a call saying I had to run back, because they wanted to test me for Kimon.

Exclusive: Nick Willing on Creating Olympus

OlympusTonight Syfy airs a new episode of its new series, Olympus, which premiered last week. Creator and director Nick Willing recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about working on the new and unique series.

Willing is a big fan of mythology, and with Olympus, he wanted to do something different that he hadn't seen on television before. "I'd never seen a show quite like this on television. I've a bit of an Ancient Greek fanatic; I've always studied the Ancient Greeks, because I'm into two important things: one is psychology, and the other is the Classics.

"So one thing I've noticed is the Ancient Greek Classics have always been treated in modern television and cinema as a sort of fairy tale set in Ancient Greece, and I'd never actually seen Ancient Greek drama - the tragedies - portrayed on television. The great dramas of Phaedra, Medea, Oedipus, Antigone, the beginning of all drama, which informs so much of our modern day drama, is so much more outrageous and extreme and shocking, but is still as shocking today as it was then, has never actually been done on television.

Exclusive: Ben Gleib Hosts a New Season of Idiotest Starting 4/1

Ben GleibOn April 1st, GSN will start to air an all-new second season of their popular game show, Idiotest. Recently host and comedian Ben Gleib, talked to (and often joked with) Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about his work on the show and the new season.

The host first talked about how he became involved with Idiotest. "I had done a few things for GSN over the years, and they said they were looking for a show for me. I didn't believe it but it turns out to be true. If I didn't believe it at this point I would just be very stubborn, because I totally have a show on their network."

Gleib thinks the uniqueness of the show has helped it to become popular. "It's a very different kind of game show than I think people are used to seeing. We just don't test trivia. We test your brain and how well it works on tests that everyone should know the answers to, so it's an interesting experiment.

"And we mix that with a lot of comedy, so even if you didn't get the question right you'll hopefully be laughing a few seconds later. Plus it's very fun to play along with at home, from what I'm told."

Exclusive: Top 16 Contestant Adam Ezegelian Talks American Idol & the Future

Adam EzegelianWhen fan-favorite American Idol contestant Adam Ezegelian did not make it into the Top 12, viewers were shocked. The toy maker from New York recently talked to Jamie Ruby in an exclusive interview about his time on Idol and his plans for the future.

Ezegelian first talked about what brought him to Idol. "I was in Walt Disney World over the summer, and they had this thing there called the American Idol Experience. It was a park attraction where people can go and audition at the beginning of the day, and be put into a little mock American Idol show that the audience votes for. And if the audience picks you as a winner, then you go to the finale at the end of the day and the winner of the finale gets this golden ticket. You get to skip the lines for the real American Idol audition. So I won that and found out the auditions were in New York, so I was like “Oh, sweet!” And I auditioned."

If able, the singer could see potentially auditioning again for the show, but not for a while. "I don't know if making Top 24 inhibits me from coming back. But I might [come back]. Right now I can't imagine going through it all again, but I can see coming around to it in the future. It was a great experience."

Exclusive: Omar Metwally Talks DIG

Omar MetwallyTonight USA airs its fourth episode of the series DIG. Omar Metwally (Non-stop, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2) plays the character of Yuseff Khalid, an American who disappeared to Israel after being accused of murder. It was recently revealed that the fugitive was working with the US Ambassador to Israel, Ruth Ridell (Regina Taylor), to find, and steal if need be, the gemstones for the high-priest's breast plate.

Earlier in the week, the actor talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about his work on the series.

Metwally became involved in DIG originally because of one of the series creators. "I actually got involved because of Gideon Raff. Basically he and I had met; I had auditioned for a different project that he had been working on, and that didn't end up working out, but I've sort of stayed on his mind. And when this project started up, it was the perfect opportunity for us to finally work together."

There was more than one thing that originally attracted the actor to the role. "I took the role for a couple reasons. One was that I really wanted to work with Gideon, and the second reason was that I read the script, and at first I wasn't sure, because in the pilot, so little is revealed about this character and what his role is going to be in the series, but after talking with Tim [Kring] and Gideon, they both assured me that it's a role that's going to go to some interesting places, and they were right about that."

Exclusive: Neil Napier Talks Helix, Peter's Loyalties, & Feelings for Anne

Neil NapierTomorrow Syfy's Helix airs its tenth episode of season two. In preparation, star Neil Napier, who plays Peter Farragut on the series, recently talked with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview about this week's episode and the rest of the season.

Helix is a show that is full of questions. Viewers now know that Peter is working for Ilaria; however, they still do not know where his loyalties really lie. "It's hard to tell right now where we're at in the season exactly what Peter's motivations are, exactly what he wants from Ilaria, and what his end goal is. But we will in the next three or four episodes, definitely by the end of the season, have a pretty clear idea of why Peter does the things he does."

The actor had a few scenes down in the oubliette this season, and he enjoyed filming in the pit. "I loved filming everything down in the oubliette, because it was so isolated, and there are all these very intimate two hander scenes; that's always fun to do. It's uncomplicated to shoot it. It's two actors that can just really get into the meat of the scene, so it's the simplicity of those kinds of scenes that I really enjoy."

Exclusive: Shawn Ashmore Talks The Following Season Three

Shawn AshmoreTonight FOX premieres season three of its hit psychological thriller, The Following. Season three begins one year later. Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) is on death row. Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and his FBI partner Mike Weston, played by Shawn Ashmore, are trying to move on when new threats emerge.

In preparation for the premiere, Ashmore recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about the new season.

Last season, Mike shot Lily (Connie Nielsen) in cold blood after her son, Mark (Sam Underwood), killed his father, and they have been covering it up from the FBI. Ashmore talked about how that will affect Mike, as well as how it will affect his position at the bureau. “That’s what’s interesting right from the get-go for season three. Some of the crimes and the awful things that our “heroes” have been up to in the last season, those things come back to haunt Ryan and Max (Jessica Stroup) and Mike. We’re forced to look at that. If the truth comes out about what our guys were up to last season, how will that affect them? And it’s no joke, and it’s very, very serious, so I can only imagine that if everyone did find out, Mike would definitely be fired from the FBI, if not criminally prosecuted, along with Ryan and Max. We’re all complicit on different levels about covering up and taking out some of the Gray family last year, among other followers. So yeah, it’s serious business. Our careers are on the line; potentially our freedom is on the line. So it’s definitely serious, and when we come back into season three, that’s something that we’re forced to deal with.”
