Note from the editor: I have included interviews under exclusive if they are private or one-on-one or in person interviews. These were not part of press conference calls or group discussions. These are exclusives that are currently published here at SciFi Vision or as part of one of SciFi Vision's own podcasts, or in some early cases at Media Blvd. Magazine.

I also have chosen to include some interviews from press events that are only open to a select few and not the general press or public, such as convention press rooms and everything from the Syfy Digital Press Tours, set tours, etc. as although they are not entirely exclusive, they do contain exclusive photos and sometimes videos that no other site has (I have started to mark some of these as "Spotlight" as opposed to "Exclusive, but they still remain in this category"), or may be about my own experiences only at the events. Note that in a few specific cases, the set tours were exclusive and specifically for SciFi Vision.

All of the articles unless otherwise noted were written by me, Jamie Ruby, and are copyright © 2017 Sci-Fi Vision. If you would like to post an article on your own site, please let us know first. Please do not use any of the exclusive photos or videos on your own site without permission (it will usually be given). You can find the rest of our published articles, including both interviews and reviews under articles.

Interview: Shantel VanSanten on Season Two of For All Mankind

Shantel VanSantenFor All Mankind, which airs on AppleTV+, picks up ten years after the events in season one. The series focuses on the space program but takes place in an alternate timeline to the real the space race.

Shantel VanSanten, who recently took part in a junket to promote the show, stars as Karen Baldwin, wife of NASA astronaut, Edward. Last season, while Ed was on a mission in space, their son Shane kept acting out, which led to him running off and getting into an accident that eventually proved fatal. Losing their son drove a wedge into the marriage and still affects them ten years later.

VanSanten talked to journalists about Karen’s journey this season, including dealing with her son’s death, as well as other parts about working on the series.

The actress talked to SciFi Vision about how Shane’s death has put strain on the Baldwin family this season and the challenges in playing that during a particular scene coming up. “Oh, of course, it's so hard. It's such a tricky dance to explain…It was tricky. You know, there're times that I think things are going to be challenging. I read a script, and I'm like, ‘Oh, this is going to be a tough scene.’ At first, when I read this eighteen page scene between [the] three of us, I was like, ‘Oh, wow, this is like, theater; this is what I live to do.’ I was really excited, and then there were parts of that scene that just terrified me. There are parts of it that are ugly, and that's the human parts that we want to shy away from and think that we're better than, when in all actuality, we all have massive emotional reactions, sometimes in life, and understanding where that comes from and really diving into the psyche behind where the each of the characters are, is interesting.

Fox Spring TCA Interview: Prodigal Son Cast & Producers on Catherine Zeta-Jones Joining the Cast, Teasing Malcolm/Dani, & More

Prodigal SonTonight FOX aired the mid-season finale of season two of its series Prodigal Son. The series follows criminal profiler Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne), who has a knack for getting inside the minds of killers and helps the NYPD to solve crimes. He also happens to have a serial killer (Martin Sheen) for a father.

The episode, which was directed by star Lou Diamond Phillips, introduced the character of Dr. Vivian Capshaw, Claremont Psychiatric’s resident, played by Academy and Tony Award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, and guest starred and Emmy Nominee Alan Cumming, who plays Scottish Europol Agent Simon Hoxley.

The cast and producers took part in a panel earlier today as part of the Spring TCAs to talk about the episode, Catherine Zeta-Jones joining the cast, the chemistry between Malcolm and Dani (Aurora Perrineau), and more.

Zeta-Jones was already a fan of the show when she got the role, and she was drawn to the material. “…I gravitate to the kind of nuance of what I think was so different and powerful about Prodigal Son. It's pretty good family drama with a twist of danger, and it's a dark family, and I gravitate to kind of darker material.” She added that she was also drawn to the role because of Michael Sheen, who, although she had not met before, is actually from her hometown and of similar age.
