Exclusive Interview with Tara Macken of The Hunger Games

The hot new movie this spring is Hunger Games, which opens today in theaters everywhere. The film is based on the first book in a series, written by Suzanne Collins. The film is set in the future in the country of Panem where the Capitol chooses a boy and girl as representatives from each of twelve districts to fight to the death on live television.

The tribute girl of District 4 is played by Tara Macken, who is both an actress and stunt performer. She has worked on projects such as Sons of Anarchy, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and more recently the movie In Time. She also has stunt work in the upcoming films Battleship and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, to name a few.

Macken recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview.

ABC Family's series Make It or Break It It follows a group of teen gymnasts, training to make it to the top. They train for the Olympics at the Rocky Mountain Gymnastic Training Center, known as The Rock.

Ayla Kell plays the role of Payson Keeler, top female gymnasts at The Rock as well as one of the top ranked female gymnasts of the nation.

The actress recently talked to the digital media about the upcoming season of Make It or Break It, which returns Monday night on ABC Family.

In a world of what seems to be endless bad reality television, where the female role models lower standards in droves, NBC is changing that by putting out a comedy starring Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham in a new show called Best Friends Forever.

This show is not only starring these talented ladies, but was written and produced by them as well. This is their baby and it looks to be highly energetic and true to form on two best friends and the men in their lives that have to deal with them.

Talking with these ladies, they have shared that they have a background in improv comedy and a lifetime of experiences to draw from for storylines. If you should compare them to Laverne & Shirley, they won't be offended, they would be honored. As they discuss their new show, and how they want to keep it fresh, but still want you to get to know their characters, you can feel the energy that these ladies are putting into their show.

It airs on NBC April 4, 2012 at 8:30 (ET) and looks to be a great addition for some lighthearted stories and tons of laughs.

ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, based on the popular books by Sara Shepard, is a guilty pleasure for a lot of women who tune in week after week. They tune in to see who is tormenting the four friends who all hold one big secret and a whole bunch of their own. Who is the mysterious person who seems to know all their secrets, knows what they are doing all the time, and leaves them notes and texts with just a signature of “A?”

As the weeks have unfolded this season, the girls have gotten closer and closer to the one and only “A.”

We met up with Janel Parrish, who plays Mona, as she discusses this season's twists and turns and reveals some of the plot line of who “A” really is. It might just leave you with a shock that you never saw coming.

The Voice’s first two battle rounds brought few surprises as the coaches sought to whittle their teams by pairing similar vocalists. It’s probably an effective strategy as it ensures that the team brings a variety of strengths and styles to the live rounds, but it’s not always interesting television.

Last week, however, Cee Lo shook things up with the strangest pairing of the past two seasons: soft and sultry Erin Mitchell took on the hard-rocking Shields Brothers in a performance that Adam Levine called just plain “weird.”

After the show, Erin agreed that it was a difficult pairing. “I think it was sort of like worst-case scenario for someone who has a voice like mine,” she told Scifi Vision.

The tension was evident as Erin and the Sheildses tried to find a way to work together and pull together a coherent duet. The boys toned it down a bit and Erin pumped up the volume, but their differences went beyond loud vs. quiet. It was a clash of styles and personalities that was bizarre and kind of cool at the same time.

When it was all over, Erin summed it up: “If you had put Nora Jones against AC/DC, that's what you would come up with.”

After the show, Scifi Vision spoke to the battle winners in their weekly confenrece call with digital media outlets.

The Voice airs Mondays at 8 pm on NBC.

The new NBC series Awake follows the life of Detective Michael Britten, played by Jason Isaacs, who was recently in a car accident where either his wife Hannah or his son Rex died, and now lives in two realities. In one (the green reality), his son survived. When he wakes up in the other (the red reality) Hannah is alive. The problem is, he doesn't know which is real and which is a dream.

In each reality Detective Britten works with a different partner. In the green reality, he is still working with his long time partner, Detective Isaiah "Bird" Freeman, played Steve Harris. In the red reality Bird has been reassigned and Detective Efrem Vega, played by Wilmer Valderrama, has been partnered with Britten, most likely to keep an eye on him and his mental state.

Britten often gets clues from a case in one reality that can help him to get a unique perspective and solve a case in the other. Both partners question how he gets his hunches, however, Bird is more likely to accept it because he has known Britten for so long.

Wilmer Valderrama and Steve Harris recently talked to the digital media about working on the new unique series.

Recently Syfy premiered it's newest original docuseries Monster Man, which airs Wednesday nights. The series takes you behind the scenes of the practical special effects workshop SOTA FX. The team consists of Cleve Hall and his family, including his daughters Constance and Elora Hall, and his ex-wife Sonja Maddox-Hall. Cleve is aslo joined by his best friends Roy Knyrim, who also happens to be his boss, and Johnny Saiko, as well as office manager Cindy Miller.

Cleve, Constance, and Roy recently talked to the media about creating creatures and their new series.

Tonight Syfy will air episode 1.10 of Lost Girl, "The Mourning After," where fans will be introduced to the character of Saskia, played by Inga Cadranel, who has a unique connection to Bo.

On April 9th, Syfy will air the season finale of Lost Girl. Season two will continue the following week. This way US viewers will be caught up with the show fairly soon.

Last week Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo, and Kris Holden-Ried talked to reporters about the season finale and some of what fans can expect as the show progresses.

To celebrate the season 12 premiere of Dancing with the Stars on Gameshow Network (GSN), the network is hosting a "Dance of a Lifetime" contest. GSN is inviting fans of Dancing with the Stars to send in their own homemade dance videos. The grand prize winner will be flown to Los Angeles for a private dance lesson with both a professional ballroom dance instructer as well as Dancing with the Stars' Mario Lopez. The winner will also include a full makeover complete with wardrobe provided by designer Randall Christensen.

Mario Lopez is not only known for his time on Dancing with the Stars, but also for his work on Extra, and his roles on series such as Saved by the Bell, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Nip/Tuck.

Lopez recently talked to the digital media about Dancing with the Stars and the new contest.

As the season progresses on Switched At Birth, you find yourself more and more invested in the characters and what they will do next. Why? Because the show is well written and has a cast of actors and actresses that bring their multi talents to the table.

One actor who jumps out at you from the screen is Sean Berdy. Although he is a deaf actor, you would never consider it a handicap. He excels at bringing the deaf community to the forefront of the story and shows that it need not slow you down or hamper your abilities to dream big and make them come true.

He is a passionate young man with a great outlook on life that is sure to open many doors for him.
