Exclusive: Katja Herbers Talks Evil Season Two, Now on Paramount+

Katja HerbersYesterday, Paramount+ released the second season premiere of Evil, a psychological thriller which originally aired on CBS in season one. The series stars Katja Herbers as Kristen Brouchard, a forensic psychologist who has been hired by David Acosta (Mike Colter), a Catholic seminary student, to work with him and his contractor and technical expert, Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi), to help him differentiate between possession and mental illness. She is the skeptic of the group and an atheist and therefore does not believe in demons but continues to be tested as she struggles to explain supernatural occurrences around them.

Recently, Herbers talked to Jamie Ruby in an exclusive interview for SciFi Vision about working on the series, how recent events have changed her character, Kristen’s relationship with David, working with Michael Emerson, what’s to come for her character, and more.

Exclusive: Creator/EP Valerie Armstrong and Showrunner/EP Craig DiGregorio Talk Kevin Can F**k Himself, Now on AMC

Valerie Armstrong and Craig DiGregorioYesterday, the dark comedy, Kevin Can F**k Himself, premiered on AMC. The series follows Allison (Annie Murphy), the stereotypical sitcom wife of Kevin (Eric Petersen). However, when the scene switches from the bright multi-cam to the more realistic single-cam part of the series, we see her life is anything but the happy sitcom it first appeared to be.

Series’ creator and executive producer Valerie Armstrong and showrunner and executive producer Craig DiGregorio recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about making the series, where the idea came from, creating its unique look, their favorite scenes, and more.

ATX Panel - Tim Rozon and Sarah Levy on Surreal Estate, Coming to Syfy July 16th

On the last day of the ATX TV Festival, there was a panel for the upcoming Syfy series, Surreal Estate, of which the first two episodes were made available to festival attendees. The panel, which was moderated by Jeannine Amber, featured stars Tim Rozon, who plays Luke Roman, and Sarah Levy, who plays Susan Ireland. 

On the series, Rozon and Levy play real estate specialists that sell the houses no one else wants to, because they are haunted or have some kind of supernatural energy. Each house has its own individual issues that they have to deal with. Having worked with each other in the past on Schitt’s Creek, they knew right away that they wanted to work with each other again on the series.

Stars Calvano, Roderick, and Stevens, and Executive Producer Verno Talk Secret’s of a Marine Wife

Secrets of a Marine's WifeTonight, Lifetime premieres the newest of its films in its “Summer of Secrets” lineup, Secrets of a Marine Wife. The movie, which is based on real events, stars Sadie Calvano as Erin, the pregnant wife of U.S. Marine Corporal Jon Corwin (Evan Roderick), who went missing. After her body was found, suspicions grew in the Marine community. However, it was revealed that Erin was in a relationship with her neighbor, Marine Christopher Lee (Tom Stevens), which caused the paternity of the baby to be questioned as the investigation continued.

Stars Calvano, Roderick, and Stevens, along with the executive producer, Judith Verno, recently took part in a press conference to promote the film.

Stevens talked Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision about his favorite scene. “I’d say the pool scene. The pool scene was really fun to shoot. We were just in the pool all day, just swimming. It was great.” Roderick agreed.

Calvano had a different favorite. She told the site, “I actually think that I would say that one of my favorite scenes is the scene that we shot in the diner. I feel like it is really different from the rest of the film, and I think that there is a moment in that where we see the cracks really starting to appear.

ATX The Good Fight Panel - Robert & Michelle King, Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, Charmaine Bingwa, & Mandy Patinkin

One of the shows highlighted for day eight of the ATX TV Festival was The Good Fight. Paramount+ provided an early screening of the season five premiere of the series, which returns June 24th. Following the episode there was a panel Q&A with the creatives and cast.

The panel, which was moderated by NPR’s Eric Deggans, included showrunners Robert and Michelle King, stars Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, Charmaine Bingwa, and Mandy Patinkin.

The Kings started off by talking about Memo 618, which was named after their daughter’s birthday. They also explained about how they decided to do a stand alone story in the first episode, because they wanted to tell what the characters lived through in the last year and what it was like for them. They also used the episode to wrap up the stories for the characters of Adrian and Lucca and give them proper goodbyes, because they didn’t get to do that last season, because they were shut down because of COVID.

Film Review: FEAR - Out Now on DVD & Digital

FEARFEAR, or Fear Everything and Run, which is now available to own on DVD and Digital, takes place in an apocalyptic landscape after a pathogen has been released and cities are zoned and sealed off. Ethan (Jason Tobias) and Josephine (Marci Miller), struggle to keep their family, including their daughter, Mia (Cece Kelly), who is on life support, and son, Josh (Danny Ruiz), alive while scavenging for supplies and keeping the dead at bay.

Things go from bad to worse when armed bandits raid their supplies. While defending their home, Joe is hurt, but so is the marauder’s matriarch, Desiree (Susan Moore). After a battle, there is a standoff, and an agreement is made that Ethan will go with Desiree’s brother, Lincoln (Justin Dray), to their camp to get medicine for Joe and Desiree, and everyone will go their separate ways. Of course, things don’t go according to plan, and no one can be trusted.

ATX Horror Anthologies Panel - Greg Nicotero, Chloe Okuno, Tananaritive Due, Steve Barnes, & Adam MacDonald

Tonight, as part of the ATX Television Festival, Shudder presented the panel “Horror Anthologies,” exploring modern series and why they are accepted by todays’ viewers. Panelists included Greg Nicotero, the showrunner/writer/executive producer/director of Creepshow, which will be going into its third season soon, Chloe Okuno, director of V/H/S 94, Tananarive Due and Steven Barnes, writers of Horror Noir, and Adam MacDonald, director of Slasher: Flesh & Blood. The panel was moderated by Damian Holbrook.

Panelists compared their influences in the horror genre and some of their favorites as well as why horror works so well in anthology format. Nicotero also gave his view on the reinvigorated genre of zombies.

Jason TobiasThe apocalyptic thriller, FEAR, directed by Jason Tobias and Geoff Reisner, follows a young family trying to survive when a group of thieves steals the last of their supplies. With time running out and the infected around the corner, Ethan, played by Jason Tobias, and Josephine (Marci Miller) must do whatever it takes to protect their children and get the vaccines they need.

Star Tobias, who also co-wrote the film with Reisner, recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about coming up with the idea, what it’s like writing, directing, and starring in the same project, what it took to complete the movie, and more.

Exclusive: Eric Petersen and Mary Hollis Inboden Talk Kevin Can F**k Himself, Now on AMC+

Kevin Can F**k HimselfThe new series, Kevin Can F**k Himself, which premieres its first two episodes Sunday, June 20th on AMC, was released a week early on its streaming network, AMC+. The series follows Allison (Annie Murphy), who at first appears to be the typical sitcom wife, married to Kevin, played by Eric Petersen. We soon discover, however, that her life is anything but the happy sitcom that it first appears, when the show moves from the bright multi-camera comedy to her more realistic single-camera existence where Allison realizes how destructive her husband is. The series also stars Mary Hollis Inboden as Patty, Allison’s neighbor, and Alex Bonifer as Neil, Patty’s brother and Kevin’s best friend.

Petersen and Inboden recently took part in a press junket to promote the series. The two talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about working on the series and what fans can expect.

Exclusive: Christine Evangelista on the Season Finale of Fear the Walking Dead

Christine EvangelistaOn last weeks' episode of Fear the Walking Dead, everyone’s fears became realized when Teddy (John Glover) and Riley (Nick Stahl) set off the nuclear bomb from the submarine. In tonight's season finale, each group of survivors rushes to hide and protect themselves, but the devastation left from the bomb has yet to be seen.

In the episode, Sherry, played by Christine Evangelista, and Dwight (Austin Amelio) end up at someone’s home, and after helping them get rid of some bad men who have taken their storm cellar by force, join them below to wait out the bomb.

Evangelista talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision earlier in the week in an exclusive post-mortem interview where she talked about working on both Fear and the original series, how Sherry’s motivations have changed, the possibility of settling down with Dwight, and more.
