Advance Review: Resident Evil Infinite Darkness - Enjoyable, If a Bit Convoluted

Resident Evil: Infinite DarknessTomorrow, Netflix releases its new original CGI anime series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which is based on the hugely popular survival horror video game series by Capcom, which was first released in 1996 on PlayStation. The series centers around two characters from Resident Evil 2, Federal Agent Leon S. Kennedy (Nick Apostolides) and TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield (Stephanie Panisello), who unite to stop a zombie outbreak and the government from covering it up. The story also introduces new characters Jason (Ray Chase) and Shen Mei (Jona Xiao). The show, which is set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5, spans four episodes, which are about twenty-five minutes each.

At the start of the series, viewers learn of the civil war that has broken out in the fictional nation of Penamstan. Leon, working for the U.S. government after saving the presidents daughter, is investigating a hacking incident that was uncovered, when there is an outbreak of the T-Virus in the White House. Meanwhile, Claire, who has been working with refugees from the war and overseeing the construction of a welfare facility, gets drawn into the action while waiting for an interview with the press secretary at the White House.

Exclusive: Billy Howle Stars as Detective Strangeways on The Beast Must Die, Now on AMC+

Billy HowleMonday AMC+ premiered the new six-part thriller, The Beast Must Die. The series, which will have it’s linear premiere this upcoming Monday on AMC, will continue to be released on the premium streaming platform a week in advance. The series takes place after the police investigation into the hit-and-run death of a young boy (William Llande) is dropped, and his mother, Frances (Cush Jumbo), decides to go after who she thinks is responsible on her own by pretending to be a murder-mystery novelist researching her book. When Detective Nigel Strangeways, played by Billy Howle, starts to believe his department may be responsible for a coverup, he takes on the case, all while dealing with his own PTSD over the death of his partner.

Howle recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about working on the series, filming on the Isle of Wight, his emotional scenes, and more.

The series follows Frances Cairnes, played by Cush Jumbo, a mother who’s young son Martie (William Llande) has been killed by a hit-and-run driver. When the police drop the investigation, Frances takes matters into her own hands by moving in with the family of George Rattery (Jared Harris), the man she thinks is responsible, posing as a murder-mystery novelist.

The story is based on real events and follows Vallow (Lauren Lee Smith), who gained media attention when it was reported her children, J.J. And Tylee went missing. The film also stars Linda Purl and Patrick Duffy.
