Fear the Walking Dead Cast Members Elfman, Evangelista, & David are Surprised by Their Characters' Resilience

Fear the Walking DeadTonight, the eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead premieres on AMC. After Madison (Kim Dickens) and Morgan (Lennie James)’s attempted rescue of Baby Mo didn’t go as planned, they and the other characters are brought to the island and living under the rules of PADRE.

Recently, cast members Jenna Elfman, who plays June, Christine Evangelista, who plays Sherry, and Karen David, who plays Grace, talked to the press about the upcoming final season, where SciFi Vision asked about how their characters’ journeys surprised them through the series. For all three of them, it was the characters’ reactions to the pain and hardships they’d faced.

“For me, I think I was most surprised at the courage that would burst out of her,” Elfman told the site, “this bravery and wild courage from so many moments, that she would spring forward out of all of this pain into very strong swings of integrity and courage, or even lashing out at different times…I think it was always like a good corollary to the pain when you lose a child and what that does to you, and the efforts at not being a victim, the thrust [of] trying to pull yourself outward and be more dangerous to your environment than your environment has imploded you into your own health. So, those sort of push and pulls from the pain and back into the world always stimulated and surprised me, and I was always pleasantly surprised.”

Silo Star Rebecca Ferguson Talks Accents, Relics, & More

SiloYesterday, Apple TV Plus premiered the first two episodes of its new science fiction series, Silo. Based on the trilogy of best-selling novels by Hugh Howey, the story takes place in the future, where a community of ten thousand people live in a giant underground silo, unable to leave, because the outside world is uninhabitable. They live by a strict code of rules and to disobey, or to request to leave, has deadly consequences. After a series of unexplained events, Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson), an engineer from down in the deep of the silo, starts down a path of trying to solve the larger mystery of the silo, where finding out the truth could be as deadly as the lies.

Ferguson recently talked to the press where she spoke with SciFi Vision about working on Silo. One of the difficulties the actress faced, she told the site, was speaking with an American accent. “An American [accent] is always quite difficult, because when [I] have to do an accent, I have to step out,” said Ferguson. “…I have a voice coach on set, but you're not free to ad lib and play. You're stuck within the frames of rhythm and culture, and American culture is not the same as Swedish culture in the way Americans speak.” The actress also added that she also had to hold herself back to make Juliette more introverted than she herself is.

Video Interview: Cast and Executive Producers on the Reimagining of Fatal Attraction as a Series

Fatal AttractionToday Fatal Attraction comes to Paramount Plus. The series is a reimagining of the 1980s classic film, but takes a deeper look at the events. In 2008, Daniel Gallagher (Joshua Jackson) meets Alexandra Forrest (Lizzy Caplan) and they begin an affair that threatens to destroy his life as a loving husband and father. The story is paralleled with the present, when Daniel is paroled after serving fifteen years in prison for Alexandra’s murder. He must work to put his life back together and reconnect with his estranged family while also proving he is innocent.

During a recent press day, SciFi Vision spoke with cast members Reno Wilson and Toby Huss, who played Gallaghers’ work colleagues, Earl Broker and Mike Gerard, and Brian Goodman, who played a friend of the Gallagher family, Arthur Tomlinson, about connecting with each of their characters. Wilson talked about connecting easily with his character because of the humor in the scene, while Goodman found it tricky connecting at the beginning due to the long breaks between scenes for his character, sometimes for a week at a time. For Huss, it was Mike’s loyalty that he most connected with.
