Exclusive: T.J. Thyne - King of the Lab on Bones
Recently Bones entered its tenth season on FOX. Actor T.J. Thyne plays the character of Jack Hodgins on the series, the brilliant squint who is a forensic entomologist (and a lot more) and a conspiracy theorist married to Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin). They had a son, Michael Vincent, who is now a toddler. Thyne recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview about his role.Thyne has more in common with his character now than he did when he started working on the series. "In the beginning, Jack Hodgins and I were a lot more different. He had major anger management issues, didn't like authority, and had a big chip on his shoulder.
“As the seasons have progressed, so has Jack. Once he started dating Angela, and then married her, once Jack came to terms with Zack being gone, and once the Grave Digger was finally dead and out of his life, he mellowed out. He became a father. Now he's full of zest & spunk.
“But let me tell you the difference: Jack loves bugs and slime and reptiles, etc. I don't, at all (laughs). And Hodgins is a deep conspiracy theorist, which I'm not in real life. That part is really fun to play since it's so different for me. The spiders, he can keep!"
Exclusive: Adam Copeland on Big Changes Coming to Haven
Tonight Syfy airs an all-new episode of Haven. The series, based on Stephen King's The Colorado Kid, takes place in a town where many of the ihabitants have strange abilities they call Troubles, which wreak all kinds of havoc in the small town. Adam Copeland plays Cheif of Police Dwight Hendrickson, whose mission it is to get rid of the Troubles and keep the town safe.Copeland recently talked with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about the series.
There is a lot of great stuff going on in season five of Haven, and as Dwight is a bullet magnet, it makes for some fun action scenes. "It's always safe to say that Dwight at some point is going to take some bullets. I don't know how fleshed out the character was [originally]. I don't think Dwight was supposed to be around for a while, so I think we're in this situation now where it's like, okay, he attracts bullets. How does he survive? So there's always going to be at some point where Dwight will probably get hit with some bullets.
Spotlight: LOST 2014 Jorge Garcia Panel
This past weekend SciFi Vision writers Karen Moul, A.J. Grillo, and Alyssa Grillo attended LOST 2014, the ten-year fan gathering held in Oahu for the series. The event included filming location tours as well as a Q&A panel with star Jorge Garcia (Hurley). More on the panel and tours coming soon. Last week Syfy premiered their new series Z Nation, and it was met with success. Over 1.6 million people watched the premiere, making it Syfy's highest rated acquired scripted series debut since Doctor Who in 2006.The show follows a ragtag group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, three years after the virus started spreading. The only man to survive having being bitten (Keith Allan) may hold the key to saving the human race, and it's up to them to get him from New York to a lab in California for the hope of a vaccine.
Michael Welch (The Twilight Saga), who plays the character of Mack on the show, recently sat down with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision for an exclusive interview.
Welch worked with The Asylum, the production company of Z Nation, before, and they asked him to work on the series. "I did a film with The Asylum a few years ago called Born Bad, and it ended up doing pretty well for them; it came out great. So I'm a big fan of that movie. I always kept in touch with those guys. They would invite me to events and things over the years, and every time I saw them we always said, "We've got to work together again; we have to find a project."
