Tonight, NBC premieres the new series
Awake, which follows the life of Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs), who doesn't know when he is awake or asleep. In a car accident in one reality he lost his wife, while in the other reality he lost his son. Britten refuses to make a choice of which is real, or it would mean accepting that a loved one is dead.
Britten is forced to see a therapist in both realities: in the world where his wife survived, he talks to Dr. Lee, played by B.D. Wong, about the loss of his son. In the other, he talks about losing his wife with Dr. Evans, played by Cherry Jones. Both therapists go at Britten's problems with different angles, which makes for interesting sessions on the show.
Wong and Jones talked to the digital media earlier in the week about the new series.
