The Cast of "Being Human" Talk Season Two

Being HumanPowerful Mondays return to Syfy Monday with the premiere of season two of Being Human. The series follows three twenty-something roomates trying to be normal - a vampire, Aidan, played by Sam Witwer (Battlestar Galactica; Smallville), a werewolf, Josh, played by Sam Huntington (Superman Returns; Cavemen), and a ghost, Sally, played by Meaghan Rath(15/Love; Cyberbully). This season the series will take on a darker tone as it deals with the characters trying to resist their own temptations.

The show picks up where the last episode left off, with Aidan left to rule the leaderless group of Boston vampires. He will have to resist his instincts as he is temped by a woman from his past. Josh is still unaware that he scratched Nora as they await the full moon. Meanwhile Sally must deal with the consequences of having missed her door and will be tempted by newly discovered powers.

Witwer, Huntington, and Rath, talked to the digital media about what to expect in season two.

"Lost Girl" Cast Discuss the Syfy Premiere

Lost GirlPowerful Mondays return to Syfy next week, and with it comes the premiere of their newly acquired series, Lost Girl. The series follows the character Bo, played by Anna Silk, who discovers that she is not human, but Fae - a succubus. As such she must feed on sexual energy to survive. With the help of Dr. Laura Lewis, played by Zoie Palmer, she will try to learn to survive without killing. She is also joined by Detective Dyson, played by Kris Holden-Ried, a shape-shifter, and the third part of the love triangle on the series. He is also a member of the Light Fae, one of the two clans (the other is Dark Fae) who want Bo to choose a side.

The three joined the digital press to discuss the series.

"Being Human" Showrunners Talk Season Two

Being HumanSyfy's Being Human returns Monday for season two. The drama revolves around three roomates - vampire Aidan (Sam Witwer), werewolf Josh (Sam Huntington), and ghost Sally (Meaghan Rath), as they try to be normal and not give into their baser instincts. This season promises to be darker as the series delves into the characters trying to avoid their temptations. This season the show will also move away from the story lines of the British series of the same name on which it was originally based.

The showrunners of the series, who also serve as executive producers and writers on the show, Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Everwood; Men in Trees), sat with the digital press to discuss the new season, as well as some of the upcoming guest stars.

Syfy Press Tour: "Lost Girl" Comes to the US

Anna Silk and Zoie PalmerPowerful Mondays are returning to Syfy, first with Being Human, and then with the premiere of the sexy supernatural drama Lost Girl. The series, which originally aired in Canada, was recently acquired by Syfy and has been optioned for at least the two seasons that have been filmed at the time of the press tour.

The series follows the character of Bo, played by Anna Silk, who discovers that she is not human, but a fae - a succubus to be exact, who lives by feeding off sexual energy by draining humans. She is helped by human doctor Laura Lewis, played by Zoie Palmer, who tries helps Bo control her hunger. Bo is also helped by Detective Dyson, played by Kris Holden-Ried, who is a shape-shifter fae on the side of the light. The three form quite a love triangle.

Bo fights to not choose a side between light and dark which causes friction among the factions as she also tries to learn more about her past and her potential.

Silk and Palmer sat down in Orlando, Florida at the Syfy Digital Press Tour and discussed their supernatural series.

Syfy Press Tour: "Face Off" Returns for Season 2

Ve Neill and McKenzie WestmoreSyfy's breakout reality competition Face Off returns for a second season on Wednesday night with fourteen all new contestants. The competition centers around practical makeup effects and tasks contestants with challenges where this season the expectations are even higher.

The series is hosted by McKenzie Westmore (Passions). There are three judges that remain the same throughout the competition, including multiple academy-award winner Ve Neill (Pirates of the Carribean, The Hunger Games), as well as Glenn Hetrick (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Heroes) and Patrick Tatopoulos (Independence Day, Underworld).

Westmore and Neill appeared at the Syfy Digital Press Tour in October in Orlando, Florida, where they talked about the upcoming season.

Chris HeyerdahlOne can see Chris Heyerdahl it seems everywhere these days, even if he's not always recognizable. Heyerdahl has played a variety of characters both in movies and in television, but he almost never looks the same. Some of his more popular roles include his role of Todd the Wraith on Syfy's Stargate: Atlantis (where he also played the more recognizable Halling), Marcus in the hugely popular Twilight film series, his dual roles on Sanctuary as both Biggie (Bigfoot) and John Druitt. More recently Heyerdahl has also joined the cast of AMC's Hell on Wheels as the Swede.

Heyerdahl recently sat down with Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision to talk about a variety of his roles.

Colin Morgan Returns as "Merlin" on Syfy

MerlinMerlin is a new version of the Athurian Legend, that takes place when Merlin (Colin Morgan) and Arthur (Bradley James) were young men. The story follows Merlin as he helps Arthur, while only using magic in secret, as it has been forbidden by the tyrant king, and Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon (Anthony Head). With the help of Gaius (Richard Wilson) he must also help protect Camelot from the likes of Morgana (Katie McGrath), while also discovering his destiny.

Colin Morgan recently talked to the digital press about the upcoming fourth season of Merlin, which will air on Syfy next month.

Charisma Carpenter Joins "The Lying Game"

Charisma CarpenterIt is often hard to find a television show that you want to tune into week after week, but if you do, you can often connect with a certain actor or actress that you love to see in the show. If you are lucky enough to find that actor or actress that does other work in other shows, it is great to be able to tune in, go to the movies, or get to see them in person if they go to conventions.

One actress who has been in several shows on television, along with Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Veronica Mars, is Charisma Carpenter. She embarks on a hopefully long journey in joining the cast of the ABC Family show The Lying Game, which premieres the winter episodes starting January 2, 2012 at 9/8 central.

Joining us for a conference call, she shared the new role coming to town in The Lying Game, a little insight to some new twists and turns, and a little hint as to what her history of working on these different shows has enabled her to bring to the table for her new role as Char's aunt, Ann Rebecca Sewell.

Andie MacDowell Returns to TV in "Jane by Design"

Andie MacDowellFor quite awhile Andie MacDowell has graced the screen in films such as Michael and Four Weddings and a Funeral, and has had several guest appearances on television shows. She is now going to be starring in a new television show on ABC Family called Jane By Design.

Ms. MacDowell took time out of her busy television schedule to do a conference call to dish on the challenges of filming a new television show, her new co-stars, and her inspirations for her character role. Even though she is a seasoned actress, she is still learning from those around her.

An interesting twist on dreaming of something more and having the courage to go for it while still finishing the steps of high school, Jane by Design premieres January 3, 2012 at 8:00 pm on ABC Family.
