Alphas 2.1 Review: "Wake Up Call"

By John Keegan

alphas_iconThe first season finale of "Alphas" brought a game-changing moment with the public announcement by Dr. Rosen that Alphas exist. It was the kind of plot twist that the writers simply couldn't take back, and the question was how the series would be able to move forward. The second season premiere handles that question perfectly well, while maintaining the grounded nature of the series in the process.

Warehouse 13 4.1 Review: "A New Hope"

By John Keegan

warehouse_13_iconAt the end of the third season, Warehouse 13 was utterly destroyed, killing H.G. Wells and Mrs. Frederic in the process. Artie, Pete, and Myka were left standing the rubble, wondering what might come next. Meanwhile, Claudia was struggling with Jinx's death, and what she may or may not be able to do about it, given her access to various time-bending artifacts. Ryan Cartwright Returns Tonight for Season 2 of "Alphas"

By Jamie Ruby

Ryan CartwrightAlphas returns tonight with all new episodes on Syfy. The series follows a group of people who discover they have unique superhuman abilities. Together they work with Doctor Lee Rosen (David Strathairn) and the government to help solve cases and stop many of the criminal Alphas hiding within the population, including the group Red Flag.

At the end of last season, Rosen exposed the existence of Alphas to the public. The government attempted to create a cover up by imprisoning him, while they continued to operate Bighamton, a prison for uncontrollable Alphas, the way they chose.

This season, one of the Alphas, Gary Bell, played by Ryan Cartwright, an autistic who can see electronic waves, has been unfairly imprisoned and it's up to the other Alphas to rescue him as well as Rosen and reunite the team.

Season two of Alphas premieres tonight on Syfy.

The series follows a group of people with superhuman abilities – Bill Harken (Malik Yoba) who has extraordinary strength, Cameron Hicks (Warren Christie) who has spot on accuracy, Rachel Pirzad (Azita Ghanizada) who has heightened senses, Nina Theroux (Laura Mennell) who can control people's thoughts, and Gary Bell (Ryan Cartwright), an autistic who can see electronic signals in the air. Each power however also has a downside. The group is led by Dr. Lee Rosen (David Strathairn). I will stick by my policy of giving no spoilers, but a clever/perceptive reader may be able to infer one from my comments. You have been warned.
