Meet the Stars of Syfy's New Reality "Monster Man"

Recently Syfy premiered it's newest original docuseries Monster Man, which airs Wednesday nights. The series takes you behind the scenes of the practical special effects workshop SOTA FX. The team consists of Cleve Hall and his family, including his daughters Constance and Elora Hall, and his ex-wife Sonja Maddox-Hall. Cleve is aslo joined by his best friends Roy Knyrim, who also happens to be his boss, and Johnny Saiko, as well as office manager Cindy Miller.
Cleve, Constance, and Roy recently talked to the media about creating creatures and their new series.

The River 1.8 Review: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"

“The River” turned out to be a show that was much better than it had any business being, given the questionable nature of the production style and the pedigree of the production staff. When the story was less about vague supernatural threats, and more about the characters, it improved tremendously. Even so, it’s such an uneven production that I had no idea what to expect from the finale.

There was never any doubt that Hershel's farm would eventually fall to an outside threat, but it was a bit of a surprise that that outside threat ended up being the Walkers. For a while there, I had started to fully expect that Randall's group would be the ones to descend on the farm. In some ways, that might have been more interesting. But I suppose the zombie threat has been a bit underplayed this season, so it makes sense to bring them back in full force to cap off the season.

Talk about bad timing. Sally’s possession by her own Reaper persona takes place at the worst possible time, as Josh is about to turn during the full moon and Aidan needs a fix of human blood. For Sally’s part, she has fallen into that beloved trope of an internal fantasy world, as the Reaper personality seeks to keep her Sally personality happy and distracted.

The formula of "Lost Girl" is starting to show the tell-tale signs of wear and tear around the edges, in that way most shows do by the time they hit double digits. Nonetheless, the writers are still good at breathing life into things and there's plenty of character and mythology ground to be covered, as "The Mourning After" demonstrates aptly by following up on the most intriguing threads of previous stories.

If not for the emotional components that hooked viewers, this latest episode of "Awake" would be a little ordinary. I mean, I understand giving a backstory for Michael to connect to Rex's abduction, but the resolution is too obvious. If you didn't see that it was his former partner who was behind everything, then you haven't been watching many police procedurals over the years.

Tonight Syfy will air episode 1.10 of Lost Girl, "The Mourning After," where fans will be introduced to the character of Saskia, played by Inga Cadranel, who has a unique connection to Bo.
On April 9th, Syfy will air the season finale of Lost Girl. Season two will continue the following week. This way US viewers will be caught up with the show fairly soon.
Last week Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo, and Kris Holden-Ried talked to reporters about the season finale and some of what fans can expect as the show progresses.

With Dean still not sure where his mind is at, and Sam dealing with a very chatty and empowered Lucifer in his head, I suppose that it was the perfect time to revisit the Leviathans and Dick Roman’s plans for the human race. And sure enough, it’s more than just an excuse to find new and hilarious ways to toss out Dick jokes.

“Spartacus” is usually that kind of series that delivers unexpected reversals of fortune, to the point where it becomes almost impossible to imagine that much of an episode would be devoted to a plot device that is so overused as to be laughable. So it’s surprising that the writers would go with something like a “Trojan Horse” scenario, even if they did try to frame it in a way that illuminates Glaber’s character.

Week twelve brought us a landmark chapter of The Walking Dead, as the season’s slow build paid off with a truly game-changing episode. Rick and Shane finally brought their love-hate relationship to a resolution, and Shane’s death brought undeniable proof that the zombie infection is not passed by the walkers.
From the opening scene to the stunning climax, almost everything about “Better Angels” was right on. The tone of the episode was infused with a real sense of foreboding. The sudden cold weather, the grimness and depression, preparations for winter, it all created an undercurrent of threat that built to a stunning climax. Even Dale’s funeral had an air of danger. I loved the way Rick’s talk of humanity was juxtaposed against shots of the smaller group hunting walkers, not just beheading but beating and stomping them to death. It was personal, violent and showed how angry they are at losing Dale. But few viewers missed the irony of Rick’s voiceover about honoring Dale. I’m not sure this group is capable of taking Dale’s message to heart.
