SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Helix - M. Domestica - 2.06 Post Mortem

HelixFollowing the review is a roundup of questions and answers, as well as a detailed recap of the episode.

I quite enjoyed this week's episode of Helix, there was quite a lot going on. It was great not only to see more of Balleseros, but also to see him and Julia in the present (or near past). It's great to now also know that Julia has not gone over to the dark side. It's unclear if Balleseros is completely on her side, but that's not unexpected with him.

The pieces are starting to connect. We now finally know the reason for NARVIK - to thin the herd so the world will sustain life for just the "essential" people that Ilaria chooses. Obviously, not all the members are on board. This also leads viewers to believe that NARVIK C could potentially be the disease that ended up killing off many of the immortals.

The new storyline with Mademoiselle Durant also seems connected, as she mentioned the rogue immortal that is working on something that can stop Ilaria - obviously leading viewers to believe this immortal to be Brother Michael, which is probably why Balleseros sent Peter to the island (this is assuming these scenes took place before Peter arrived). It doesn't, however, sound like this person though is necessarily doing it to help humanity.

Kevin Bacon Returns to The Following, Premiering 3/2

Kevin BaconMarch 2nd the psychological thriller, The Following, returns to FOX with all new episodes of season three. The series follows FBI Agent Ryan Hardy, played by Kevin Bacon, and his team as they work to catch serial killers.

The star talked to the media yesterday about what's next for Hardy.

Bacon talked to SciFi Vision about some of the threats this season. “Mark is still there. Dr. Strauss, who was also from the previous season, is involved. We have a fantastic, loving and extremely beautiful couple named Daisy and Kyle who are terrible, terrible sociopaths, but incredibly in love with each other. They’re kind of reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde or Natural Born Killers. I think they’re a lot of fun.

“Joe Carroll, while we don’t see him for the first few episodes, is still a very big presence in my life, and I’m trying to really figure out if the killing that’s happening in and around New York now is somehow connected to him or not. That’s part of what I sort of uncover in the course of this season.”

The actor also told the site, that he is always looking to be challenged in his work. “I look for challenges, you know. Certainly, taking on an hour drama on a network series was a new challenge for me, and I find that it’s challenging pretty much every day I go to work, either physically or emotionally, and I try my best to push the writers to give me new challenges, as many as possible.

“The way I analyze a script, is, I don’t look at how many days I have off. I see how far they’re going to push me. That’s just kind of like the way I am.

Clive Standen Talks Vikings, Premiering Tomorrow

Clive StandenTomorrow night History premieres its third season of the popular series Vikings. The new 10-episode season stars Clive Standen as Rollo.

Standen recently talked to the media about what fans can expect in the upcoming season.

The actor talked to the press about part of what resonates about the show with viewers, one being its originality. "...I think what makes it original is that there’s nothing like this on TV. The only shows that people can compare it to are fantasy shows, because they have the dragons and they have the monsters and the dwarves and the elves and things. We don’t have any of that, but because of the Viking belief system, and the gods they believed in, it verges on the fantastical.

"...These are things that these people believed in. So we get to tie it all out and the screen. We had these Viking characters the way they believed this is all true, and the gods themselves. So it does verge on something that’s otherworldly; and because the Vikings did all the things they did over the hundreds of years they did it, the conquests, the action, the raiding, the adventure, the technology of the boats, it suddenly brought in a completely different demographic that are used to watching historical dramas on TV. Before Vikings came along, historical dramas were in that bracket of Sunday night television where your mom and dad would sit down and watch a bit of Pride and Prejudice, or watch Keira Knightley in a corset. Now, you can sit down with your parents, be sitting and watching these historical raiders colonizing and raiding half of Europe and these eother continents, and I think it just makes so incredible event TV.

Vikings Alexander Ludwig Talks Vikings Season 3

Alexander LudwigTomorrow History's Vikings returns to television with all new episodes of season three. Alexander Ludwig, who plays the part of Bjorn, son of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), recently talked to the media in preparation of the premiere.

The actor talked to SciFi Vision about how he got the part of Bjorn. "It was funny how this actually came about. A woman named Sherry Marsh, who’s one of our executive producers on the show, had seen me in The Hunger Games and had seen that I had a strong resemblance to Nathan, who played the original Bjorn, and that I resembled Travis as well. She contacted my team and brought up this show and said, “Is Alexander doing anything?” I just finished Lone Survivor at that time. We had a talk and I’d never thought I would ever do a TV show.

"I think it was just when TV was really starting to have some really great content. I hadn’t actually seen Vikings yet. So I started watching the show, and I called some of my friends and told them what was happening. They were like, “You would be an idiot not to go on the show,” because they were already huge fans of it, and I hadn’t been able to, because I’m not watching very much TV. So I went in and I met with the president of MGM Television and everybody who’s involved with Vikings including Travis and Katheryn.
