Kevin Murphy on the Return of Defiance

By Jamie Ruby

Kevin MurphyThursday the hit series Defiance returns to Syfy. The second season picks up several months after the events of the season one finale, and everything has changed. The Earth Republic is now in charge of Defiance. Nolan, no longer law keeper, is out looking for Irisa. Amanda struggles with her sister's disappearance and no longer having any power in the town. Things are quite different and it's a much darker season.

Recently Kevin Murphy, the executive producer and showrunner, talked to the digital media about the return of the series.

Murphy talked to SciFi Vision about how they are going to be expanding the crossover between the series and the game this season. "What we discovered first season, was that just a television show and a video game have very different needs, and there was a real challenge for Trion putting three different platforms up live for an MMO at once.

"And a lot of their elbow grease the first season was set making everything work.

Orphan Black: Variable & Full of Perturbation Review & Recap

By Jamie Ruby

Orphan BlackEvery week Orphan Black gets crazier and I love it even more. This week we were introduced to a new clone, Tony, a transgender. The scenes between Tony and Felix are some of the best of the week. I was laughing while also cringing when he kissed Felix (Sister Kisser!).

The show does such a fantastic job week after week of juxtapositioning the comedy against the drama. So many times what is going on is something serious, but hilariously so. Another example this week is when Donnie confesses to killing Leekie. You really can't help but laugh at the absurdity of Alison and her husband, but of course in the best way possible.

ResurrectionResurrection, which is based on the book The Returned, by Jason Mott (no connection to the French movie or series), follows the lives of the residents in the town of Arcadia, Missouri after their previously deceased loved ones suddenly return.

The show mostly focuses on one family, the Langstons. The first episode opens with a young boy, Jacob (Landon Gimenez) waking up on the other side of the world with no idea how he got there. Eventually he is returned by immigration and customs Agent J. Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps) to his parents Henry (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille (Frances Fisher), and although they have aged quite a bit, he is still 8, the same age as when he died 32 years ago, though they soon discover with a few slight differences.
