Tonight on Defiance
, Nolan (Grant Bowler) and Irisa (Stephanie Leonidas) hunt for who or what is responsible for a gruesome murder, of which the victim may have surprising connections to another character. Meanwhile Stahma (Jaime Murray) returns unwelcome to town while T'evgin (Conrad Coates) deals with problems in his own family.
Tonight's episode has quite a somber tone to it. I found myself tearing up at not only Nolan's speech to the grieving families, but also to Stahma being upset over Alak (Jesse Rath). The actors did a fantastic job tonight with pulling on your heart strings.
I very much as always loved Doc Yewll (Trenna Keating) in the episode. There were some surprising bits in regard to her character. Her biting sarcasm always has me cracking up, and tonight was no different. Her banter with Samir (Raymond Ablack) was a lot of fun as well.
I also liked the dynamic this week with T'evgin and his daughter Kindzi (Nichole Galicia). I was surprised by, but pleased with the way it played out.
Another standout scene was towards the end with Amanda (Julie Benz) reluctantly helping Stahma. Their snappy dialog was great.
I also enjoyed how Nolan's final scenes were juxtaposed with Stahma's as she grieved. Everyone in Defiance has lost a lot recently. Hopefully with Rahm Tak (Lee Tergesen) gone the town can start to rebuild, though that has yet to be seen.
