HBO Max Announces Ad-Supported Tier Pricing, Previews New Original Series and Content Premieres And Debuts Advertising Experience at 2021 WarnerMedia Upfront

HBO Max announced at today’s 2021 WarnerMedia Upfront that it will debut its ad-supported subscription tier the first week of June, providing consumers choice between the existing ad-free version of HBO Max at $14.99 per month, or an ad-supported experience for $9.99 per month. HBO Max previewed new ad experiences coming to the platform later this year and shared its immediate commitment to having the lightest ad load in the streaming industry, coupled with the most premium content.

In addition to advertising-specific news, the brand debuted highly anticipated new and original series including “And Just Like That…,” teased special events like “FRIENDS: THE REUNION,” a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show, and previewed forthcoming seasons of “Legendary,” “The Flight Attendant” and “Search Party,” among others at the upfront.

LOS ANGELES (May 19, 2021) – The TNets (TBS, TNT and truTV) announced today July premiere dates for new and returning unscripted and scripted series. Kicking off July 1^st, truTV fans can join The Tenderloins for their first-ever Awards Special, “Impractical Jokers Awards Show,” celebrating the most iconic moments from the franchise’s 200+ episodes at 10:00pm ET/PT, followed by the network premiere of “Impractical Jokers: The Movie” at 10:30pm ET/PT. On July 8^th, new episodes from the ninth season of “Impractical Jokers” return at 10:00pm ET/PT on truTV, followed by, the series premiere of “Backyard Bar Wars” at 10:30pm ET/PT.

CBS today announced its 2021-2022 primetime programming lineup of CBS Originals, featuring the expansion of television’s biggest franchises, the launch of a distinctive and highly “spirited” new comedy, plus bold scheduling moves on key nights. Craig Erwich, president, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, today unveiled the ABC primetime schedule for the 2021-2022 season, featuring tentpole returning shows and bold, fresh new series. The network continues to deliver on its success as the season’s No. 1 entertainment network among Adults 18-49 for the second year in a row. This marks the first time the network has won back-to-back consecutive seasons in entertainment in 25 years. ABC also has three of the top five highest-rated entertainment series, the most for any network, with “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette.”

“We are proud to continue to deliver highly entertaining, culturally relevant and powerful stories that further drive our momentum as the No. 1 entertainment network,” said Erwich. “We’ve also made it a priority to be intentionally inclusive across all of our content, and we’re excited to introduce our audience to the rich new characters, bold stories and strong ensemble casts featured in our upcoming programming slate.”

Debuting this fall is the highly anticipated comedy “The Wonder Years” from Saladin K. Patterson (“Dave,” “The Big Bang Theory”), Lee Daniels (“Empire,” “The United States vs. Billie Holiday”) and original series star Fred Savage; and from Zahir McGhee (“Scandal”), the buzzed-about hip-hop drama series “Queens,” starring Eve, Naturi Naughton, Nadine Velazquez and Brandy, which will feature original music performed by cast members.
