Orphan Black: The Next Chapter - Episode 6 Review & Recap

***Contains Spoilers***

Orphan Black: The Next ChapterThe hiatus over, today Serial Box releases episode six of the audio series Orphan Black: Next Chapter, narrated by Tatiana Maslany. The episode is titled “What a Living World Will Demand” and written by Heli Kennedy.

I was so excited for the series to be back after the cliffhanger from episode five, and thankfully the episode was fantastic. Performance-wise, this episode was definitely one of my favorites, because Maslany vocally performs as quite a few clones in this episode, including not only the addition of Helena and Krystal, but also more clones we’ve never encountered before. Felix also makes an appearance, which was a nice surprise.

The episode is a trip, as there is a lot going on simultaneously, which I loved. In one storyline you have Charlotte, who is still quite sick, and Alison, who want to come back home, and in another you have Sarah and Delphine who are stuck at the house after having been accosted by the press. Everything is crazy now that news of clones is out. Not everyone is happy with the revelation either, and clones are being attacked.

Advance Preview: His Dark Materials Brings Pullman's Rich Fantasy World to Life

His Dark MaterialsTomorrow night the awaited series, His Dark Materials, premieres on HBO. The series is based on Philip Pullman’s award-winning book trilogy of the same name. The first season will cover the first novel. The world of the show is similar to our own in some ways, but also very different. In some ways their technology is more advanced than in ours, but in other ways they fall behind. The biggest difference, however, is that in the world of the series, humans live with daemons, but not the kind you’re used to. Daemons are the manifestation of the soul outside of the body as an animal, and every person has one. They talk and can change into any kind of animal, but when a child reaches puberty, they settle on their form, reflecting the person’s true nature.

At the beginning of the series Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) brings a baby to Jordan College, invoking Scholastic Sanctuary and giving her to the Master of the college, Dr. Carne (Clarke Peters), who will keep her safe.

Lyra (Dafne Keen) grows up at the college with her daemon, Pan, and befriends another orphan, Roger (Lewin Lloyd), and together they go on mischievous adventures.

Spotlight: "See" Roundtable Interviews #3

SeeSciFi Vision recently participated in several press roundtables for Apple TV+’s epic series See.

Our final roundtable included one of See’s lead characters, Alfre Woodard, as Paris, an elder, advisor, and midwife who ranks high within the Alkenny’s hierarchy. Paris is like family to Jason Momoa’s lead character, Baba Voss. Paris is a trusted resource for Baba and his family. Her friendship and loyalty help them hide the secret that could change the whole world of See.

Yadira Guevara-Prip plays the Alkenny tribes’ dual characters, Bow Lion and The Shadow. Bow Lion is the daughter of The Dreamer, who stands with Baba Voss on the battlefield. The Shadow is a mysterious figure who moves in silence and can’t be detected unless she wants to be. She is playful almost like a nymph or fairy. Yadira’s dual role helps to build the folklore and tales that have spanned generations since the world was left blind.

Steven Knight is the writer, creator and executive producer of See. He’s created a world that is set six hundred years in the future and has a world population of only two million people. Survivors have adapted after being hit by a virus that left them blind. The world has adapted to its lack of sight and the Earth has healed itself.

With the nudging of the executive producer, Jenno Topping, Steven’s concept of the world of See has come to life.

Exclusive: Sam Littlefield Talks Batwoman

Sam LittlefieldSam Littlefield is no stranger to TV. Having appeared in NCIS, CSI: NY, and The Messengers to name a few, Mr. Littlefield has tackled many roles. All this has led to what could be the penultimate opportunity: playing a villain alongside TV's first queer female superhero. With quite a burden to bear, Sam Littlefield plays a mysterious and admittedly shifty character called Mouse who first appears in the show's third episode “Down Down Down.” This member of Alice (Rachel Skarsten)'s Wonderland Gang may be the righthand man of the series' first major baddie, but does Mouse have plans of his own for Gotham City?

SciFi Vision had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Littlefield about his role in The CW's newest cape and cowl drama, Batwoman.
