Advance Review: Haven - "See No Evil"

HavenThe fifth season of Haven, which airs tonight on Syfy, picks up where the fourth left off. The door to the other world has been closed, leaving William (Colin Ferguson) on the other side and a none too happy Mara having taken over Audrey (Emily Rose).

The episode focuses on what happened to everyone after the door was closed. Nathan (Lucas Bryant) wants Audrey back and will do anything to get her. Meanwhile the town is facing an all new and horrible Trouble that may or may not have been caused by Mara. Also, Jennifer (Emma Lahana) is missing and could be part of the key to finding and stopping Mara.

HavenI really enjoyed the first episode of the season, "See No Evil." While I do really miss the real Audrey, Mara is a pleasure to watch. She's obviously going to be a fun character, even if she is a force that needs to be stopped. You can tell that Rose is having fun playing this new side, and she does a bang up job of it.

The other actors, as always, are really great as well. Nathan is not ready to give up Audrey, no matter the cost. Eric Balfour is stellar and you really feel for Duke as he realizes that he may be doing more harm than good. It's also great to see Dwight (Adam Copeland) back fighting the good fight, even if he is more preoccupied with the Trouble in town.

If you haven't watched Haven before, the beginning of the season is a great place to start, and you can always catch up on Netflix or the like. If you're a returning fan, you are going to feel gratified and excited for more. This looks to be the best season yet.
