SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

The Clock Is Ticking on "24: Live Another Day"

By Karen Moul

24: Live Another DayFans of the hit series 24 have been waiting four years and at last, Jack is back! Kiefer Sutherland returns as agent Jack Bauer in 24: Live Another Day, but the new incarnation has a twist: the groundbreaking 24-hour format is condensed to 12 hours, and the action has moved from L.A. to London.

Despite its shorter run, the series is everything longtime fans will expect. The format and frantic pace are unchanged, as is the iconic ticking clock. Although we'll see only half as many episodes, Executive Producers/Showrunner Manny Coto reassures viewers that "This is a realtime series and it remains a realtime series. All we are doing is presenting 12 hours out of a 24-hour period. But the episodes themselves are realtime."

When we last saw Jack, he fled into hiding with the help of his colleague and friend, Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Live Another Day picks up four years later. What have the former agents gotten into this time? As usual, Coto and Executive Producer Evan Katz found inspiration in current political events – specifically, says Coto, "the whole idea of government spying on its citizens and the technology and consequently individuals who are trying to fight that.

Bob Odenkirk Talks Fargo

By Jamie Ruby

Bob OdenkirkFX recently premiered it's new series Fargo. Bob Odenkirk, who plays the part of Deputy Bill Oswalt in the series, recently talked to the media about that role, as well as some of the other work that he's known for.

Odenkirk talked to SciFi Vision about what attracted him to his role in Fargo. "I love the movie. I got the script and my first instinct on it was "please don't ruin the movie I loved," and I would say by about page eight or nine of reading of the script, I felt, oh man, this is great. This is everything good. They took all the great vibe from the movie. They took the darkness and the comedy and they, well they, Noah Hawley is the writer and he did all this work and he took what you can take and not take the specifics of the movie; and I could just tell it was very entertaining, so I wanted to go in on it and I just worked on my part and went in and I read for it and hoped that I would get it and I did.

"And then I was just surprised at how it grew over time as we were shooting it and how my part, Bill Oswalt, without giving away too many spoilers or any spoilers, he gets to go somewhere emotionally and it's pretty great."

Saul Rubinek & Aaron Ashmore Talk Season 5 of Warehouse 13

By Jamie Ruby

Saul Rubinek and Aaron AshmoreOn Monday Syfy premiered the fifth and final season of fan favorite Warehouse 13. Actors Saul Rubinek, who plays Artie Nielsen, and Aaron Ashmore, who plays Steve Jinks, recently talked to the media about the series.

One of the soon to be fan favorite episodes this year is "Savage Seduction," the fourth episode in the season.

Ashmore told SciFi Vision, "I remember it was a little bit daunting, because I was going to be playing two versions of Steve and two very different versions of Steve, so it was definitely challenging. Originally, I think they were hoping to get my brother so that we could be able to play both roles, him play one and me play the other, but just the timing and stuff didn't work out. So that didn't happen.

"But again, it was a lot of fun. It was worth the exercise to me to explore the incredibly flamboyant gay side of Steve that we don't really get to see, but obviously it's deep down there somewhere. So it was a ton of fun and difficult at the same time to be switching back and forth between serious and flamboyant Steve with just a moment's notice, to kind of flip back and forth.

There is quite a lot going on in the final season of the series. "I kind of explained it when I was at Comic-Con; it's as if Jack Kenny our showrunner was packing for vacation and he stuffed as many things in the suitcase as humanly possible. It's like he sat on it and just stuffed the episodes so full. There's so much that happens in just six [episodes]."

Exclusive: On the Set of Warehouse 13 - Allison Scagliotti

Exclusive Interview with Allison Scagliotti at the Warehouse 13 set in Toronto, 8/23/13
By Jamie Ruby

Allison ScagliottiIn August SciFi Vision had the amazing opportunity to visit the Warehouse 13 set in Toronto during filming of the season finale.

Allison Scagliotti, who plays Claudia Donovan on the popular Syfy series, talked to SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview.

Scagliotti talked about some of the things crammed into the final season. "What I love about Warehouse 13 [is] the amps turned up to eleven. We have a crazy telenovela episode that's half in Spanish. We deal with Paracelsus (Anthony Head), and I don't want to spoil that too much, because that's a really exciting and kind of Buffyesque kind of moment. For Claudia, we finally get to learn what happened to her family, and we meet her sister (Chryssie Whitehead) who Claudia was not aware was still alive. So Claudia and Artie (Saul Rubinek) have to sort of deal with how that changes their relationship; he was keeping it from her, and what she has to learn from the situation, which is that some things in life you can't fix."
