SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Spotlight: Midnight, Texas Set Visit - Yul Vazquez on Dispensing Wisdom and Whooping Ass

Yul VazquezNBC's Midnight, Texas centers around a town that sits on an ever-weakening veil between the world of the living and Hell. Drawn to the energy, the town serves as a safe haven for a variety of supernaturals.

The Reverend of the town, played by Yul Vaszquez, is one of these supernaturals. In tonight's episode it is revealed he's a weretiger.

Earlier in the year, Vazquez talked to journalists on the set of the show about playing the Rev.

Vazquez talked to SciFi Vision about what initially jumped out at him about the role. "I read the pilot, and then they asked me to look at the Rev. I have a simple checklist when I'm talking about doing a job. Is the piece good? Are the people involved good? Is the part itself good? Can you do something with the part? And all those were yes.

Exclusive: Midnight, Texas - Monica Breen: Vampires and Tigers and a Man in a Fat Suit

Monica BreenWhen we first join Midnight, Texas, Manfred (François Arnaud), who can talk to ghosts, is trying to escape his past when his dead grandmother, Xylda (Joanne Camp), suggests that he go to Midnight. When he arrives, he quickly realizes that he isn't the only one with secrets.

The town is a safe haven to other supernaturals wanting to stay hidden from the world. Midnight, however, sits on a weakening veil between the living and Hell. The energy not only affects the Midnighters, but also attracts other evil forces.

When the fiancé of the local pawnshop owner, Bobo (Dylan Bruce), is murdered, Manfred decides to stay and use his abilities to help solve the murder, while they also all work to keep the police from learning their secrets.

Earlier in the year, as part of a press day, SciFi Vision visited the set of the series, which is based on a novel series by Charlaine Harris. While there, the site talked to the cast and crew, including Showrunner/Executive Producer Monica Breen.

Recently, Breen caught up with SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview to talk more about creating the show, the characters, and everything in between.

Spotlight: Midnight, Texas Set Visit - Dylan Bruce on Playing Bobo

Dylan BruceNBC's Midnight, Texas, based on the book series by Charlaine Harris, centers around a town that sits on the veil between the living and Hell that's weakening. It has become a safe haven to the supernaturals living there.

When the fiancé of the local mortal Bobo Winthrop, played by Dylan Bruce, is murdered, the cops come to town and secrets are threatened to be exposed.

Earlier in the year when SciFi Vision attended a press day at the set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bruce sat down to talk to the journalists about the series.

Bruce talked to SciFi Vision about playing one of the few mortals on the show. “I think everyone in Midnight is very accepting; it’s a very accepting place. It’s almost like a refuge for people who are outsiders or people who are running from maybe a tragic or demons-in-the-closet kind of past.

Wynonna Earp - No Future in the Past - 2.08 - Post Mortem

Wynonna EarpFollowing the review is a full recap of the episode.

"No Future in the Past" was my favorite episode of Wynonna Earp so far of the season. So much was going on, and so much was revealed.

At the beginning of the episode, I love that we get more insight into Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley)'s past with the flashbacks in the episode, especially because she's been trying to find out if she's really an Earp.

Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) seemed oblivious to what Waverly went through as a child, though I think that is only because she was a child herself, and also, she was in a very bad place back then and not really looking out for her sister. Thankfully that has changed.

Spotlight: Midnight, Texas Set Visit - Parisa Fitz-Henley on Making Magic

Parisa Fitz-HenleyThe series Midnight, Texas, which is based on the book series by Charlaine Harris, is centered on a town that serves as a safe haven for supernaturals. They feel a draw to the town, as it sits on powerful energy where the veil between the living and Hell is very thin and is weakening.
