SciFi Vision - Where Fiction and Reality Meet

Exclusive Video Interview: Alex Pettyfer Talks Immortality and His Film Warning

Alex PettyferThe science fiction thriller Warning, which takes place in the near future leading up to Earth’s destruction, takes a look at short narratives of different groups of interconnected people as they contemplate the meaning of life in a time when the technology we’ve become to depend on is often a substitute for human contact.

The scenes with Alex Pettyfer, who plays the role of Liam, who comes from a wealthy family and brings his girlfriend (Annabelle Wallis) home to dinner, tell a cautionary tale of immortality.

Watching the film, directed by Agata Alexander, is not a passive experience, as it’s definitely one that will make you think about things, including technology, in a new light. According to, Pettyfer, who talked to Jamie Ruby in an exclusive interview, our evolving technology can cause you to lose yourself, and he misses the personal connection. “I think that we are in a point in time where technology in its evolution is so drastically advanced that we are in a place where our communication has evolved into a kind of a distorted reality. I think that, unfortunately, we've gone through a very, very hard time the last few years.

Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality is a Fun & Creepy Treat for Fans

Doctor Who: the Edge of RealityDoctor Who: The Edge of Reality is advertised as an expansion to the original VR game Doctor Who: The Edge of Time. That game was available on virtual headsets, including Oculus, on which I originally played part of. The VR aspect I admit does make the game more immersive. It also makes the creatures seem more eerie when they can jump out at you. I, however, get motion sickness so I was never able to make it super far in the original game, so I was really excited when I heard the game was coming to other platforms. The game is still not super long, clocking in at about two to three hours, but with the $24.99 price tag, it’s well worth it. There is also a deluxe edition on some platforms which includes multiples sonic screwdrivers and different gloves. I, however, received the standard edition for review. If they ever have the bonuses available as DLC, I will be buying it.

The game starts out with the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) calling you for help in stopping the threat known as the Reality Virus, which has put all of time and space at risk, and you become her new companion. You start by investigating a London-based laundromat for clues, which eventually leads you to her TARDIS and other planets, where you help her find the Time Crystals and stop the villain known as The First.

The acting voices, sound effects, and music really make you feel like you are on the show, and it’s fun to get to wield a sonic screwdriver. Getting to not only enter and look around the TARDIS but hit buttons and levers was really thrilling as a fan. I do wish, however, that you could venture beyond the area around the console.

Chicago FireChicago Fire is about to air its 200th episode tonight! It is no surprise that the cast has shared a lot of memories together throughout the years and plan to make even more.

In a recent press roundtable, David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, and Joe Minoso shared that they have a special, unbreakable bond both on and off screen. It is something that is beautiful to see and something that will last a lifetime.

“We mock ourselves and each other all the time.” Stolte shared with SciFi Vision. “Once in a while we're in the moment like that, where I think each of us realizes, 'Oh, we're pretty good at this,' and we kind of forget that, because we're used to just sort of taking ourselves in a casual fashion.”

“[There’s] never, that I've ever been in or heard of, a scene in the show where everybody isn’t all inclusive." Eigenberg added. “Everybody is on board to go.”

Exclusive Video Interview: Star & Writer/Director Talk Women is Losers, Coming Soon to HBO Max

Lorenza Izzo & Lissette FelicianoWomen Is Losers is a new film that tells a familiar story. The movie follows young Celina Guerrera as she copes with an unplanned pregnancy and tries to make it on her own as a single Latina mother in San Francisco. From 1967 to 1973, Celina struggles to hold a job, pay the rent, raise her son and maybe, just maybe, get a foothold in a system that is rigged against her. Fresh off the festival circuit, Women is Losers premieres Monday, October 25th on HBO Max.

This may be a period piece, but in the hands of writer/director/producer Lissette Feliciano, the tale pops off the screen with a modern feel. Her directorial and production choices (such as modern music and other anachronisms) remind audiences that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

“The through line of the film is intergenerationality,” she told SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview. “The things that Celina's character is dealing with in 1967 through 1973 were things that I was dealing with in 2021...So, it didn't feel like I had to really pick a time period, because it's every time period. It's now, it's currently now, and it's going to be unfortunately the next couple of years as well…So, that really gave me carte blanche to use all the different techniques, all the different sounds, all the different music, all the different colors, even different film styles.”

Exclusive: Nicholas Cantu Talks his Return to The Walking Dead: World Beyond

Nicholas Cantu***Interview contains spoilers for 2.03***

Tonight, the third episode of the second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond airs on AMC. In the episode, we finally get to see what Elton, played by Nicholas Cantu, has been up to. Last season, Elton was separated from his friends when he ran into Silas (Hal Cumpston) and Percy (Ted Sutherland) again, proving that Silas didn’t kill Percy’s uncle or try to kill Percy, but rather, Huck (Annet Mahendru) did. When they are caught by the CRM, Silas sacrifices himself so Elton and Percy can get away.

Interview: Lennie James & Karen David on Their Characters' Journeys in Fear the Walking Dead Season 7

Lennie James and Karen DavidTonight, AMC premieres the seventh season of its series Fear the Walking Dead. At the end of last season, cult leader Teddy (John Glover), set off a nuclear bomb that destroyed everything in the area, leaving everyone to run to safety underground. Morgan, played by Lennie James, and Grace, played by Karen David, ran into the submarine with a murder-suicide pact, but changed their minds upon finding Baby Mo.

During a recent roundtable interview, James and David talked to SciFi Vision about what scenes they have found the most fun. David said that watching James during his fight scenes is a joy. “He does them so well, and just even watching him practice with our amazing stunt team, some of those fun bits, they've been great, and certainly in “Six Hours,” 702, [he] had some kickass moments there.

James enjoys doing those kinds of scenes, but others as well. “On one level, it's an impossible question for me to answer, because Morgan has been on such a ride as a character. He's had so many different incarnations and so many different encounters. The moments of joy and the moments of fun are different and varied and are at different times.”

The actor reminisced about working with Melissa McBride, who plays Carol on the flagship series. “I remember sitting on a log in the woods with Melissa after we were doing a scene and just thinking, ‘I don't know that there's anywhere else I'd rather be at this particular moment in time and doing anything else,’ and that was a huge amount of fun.”

Cantu, Cumpston, & Sutherland Talk The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 2

The Walking Dead: World BeyondTonight, AMC premieres the third episode of the second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The series follows teens as they try to survive the apocalypse, as well as the CRM. Nicholas Cantu stars as Elton, the analytical one of the bunch, while Hal Cumpston stars as Silas, who was brought to the campus colony after being arrested of a violent crime. At the end of last season, Ted Sutherland joined the cast as Percy. While Elton and Percy are currently navigating the world together, at the end of last season, they were separated from others, as well as Silas, who was picked up by the CRM.

The three recently talked to the press during a roundtable interview.

The actors also talked to SciFi Vision about some of the things that surprised them about their characters in the first season. Cantu was surprised by his character’s reaction to Hope (Alexa Mansour) killing his mother. “I thought he was gonna flip. I was like, ‘He's gonna go evil. He's gonna be the evil one. This is gonna be the change of the season.’ I guess it says more about me and how rage filled I am, but Elton just accepted it. He just internalized it, and he went on this long journey, and he found Percy [and Silas] because of it. He found both of his friends, because he was able to, I guess, not kill the killer, because…I was making the movie in my head, and it wasn't the movie that we were making. So, I was surprised by Elton's lack of action, or introspective action. His intellectual brain power just took over…He just ran away with his problems, which is a good message for the viewers.”

Exclusive: Lynn Collins on What's Next for The Walking Dead’s Leah

Lynn CollinsIn last week’s mid-season finale, The Walking Dead finally put an end to Pope (Ritchie Coster) when Leah (Lynn Collins) stabbed him in the neck. Leah had remained loyal to the Reapers up to this point - a loyalty that has sometimes been difficult for fans to understand. In an exclusive interview with SciFi Vision, Lynn Collins explained why she thinks Leah has stuck with the violent mercenaries for so long.

“When we see her in season ten and we meet her,” explained Collins, “the majority of that episode is her having a catharsis, because she's never got to speak about these horrifying moments where she loses her ‘sister’ and the sister's child and even Dog's mother…So, when she goes back into this culty militaristic religious extremism, I think it's because the alternative would be to be out on her own again with all of that pain.”

So, what changed Leah’s mind about Pope? “She believes that she's there to protect and love these people…I think when the house, the cabin, is set on fire and she's in it with Daryl (Norman Reedus), I think that's the first big wake up call for her where she's like, ‘Oh my God, I'm not safe here.’…So there's a lot going on in Leah's head, and she’s trying to navigate, is Daryl someone she can trust, and is Carver (Alex Meraz) someone she can trust? And if Pope can risk and sacrifice A, B, C and D, is he going to sacrifice her, which we already know he already tried. So, it's very complicated.”
